Get ready with me - school morning routine

Hello everybody,

I'm going, to be honest with you I'm not a morning person so getting up at 5.45 a.m. nearly every day is no fun for me or my family. So today I'm going to talk you through my school morning routine and show you some of the products I use.

I have quite a strict time schedule so in the 50 minutes I have I need to get presentable ready, pack my school bag, have some breakfast and try to convince myself that the day won't be as bad and I'll be home soon (easier said than done).
Well, first of all, I need to get out of bed once I did that I need to find an outfit to wear, what takes bloody ages and when I finally found one I get dressed and have my quite unhealthy breakfast (toast/rolls with Nutella). At that point, I quickly chat through what's on today with my grandfather.
I go back to my flat in our house, brush my teeth and wash my face. Makeup time! Afterwards, I pack my school bag. Last but not least I style my hair which is basically me just brushing it and put it in a ponytail because I can't be bothered to do anything else. Before I put on my coat and leave the house I check my to-do list and twitter (@doublesteff).At 6.35 a.m. I leave the house and go to the bus station.
So this sums up a typical morning for me.

What's your morning routine like?

My plans for 2017

Hello everybody,

surely everyone has new years resolutions but a lot of people fail to actually stick to them. So this post won't be about new years resolutions just because I'm kinda sick of them now. This post is about my plans that I have.
Clearly, some will and some won't work out. And pretty much all of them are plans that will take a longer time to realise than just 2017 but the point is that I start with them now.

These plans are very various but they are things that I'd like to achieve and everybody should have such plans (it takes the pressure away by calling them plans rather than resolutions which can be quite helpful).
So let's begin, shall we:
I want to travel as much and many places as possible. We are young only once and we should take that time who knows when we'll be able to do it again.
Another thing is my school work that I want to concentrate on more or at least as much as I do now. It can open you so many doors but I also want to spend more time with my family and friends and have more me-time (which is one of the hardest things for me).
But the hardest thing will be working on my mental health even though having some me-time and this is quite close, mental health is a whole different level.
And the last thing I want to do is organise and plan my life more and have more of a regular schedule and routines that I do everyday (like get rid of your make-up as soon as you come home or read at least one chapter or at least 20 pages of a book a day).

It does not sound like that much work or hard work but it is a lot and hard as well. Some of the things are harder than others but they all have the same meaning for me.

I strongly believe in doing and (hopefully) achieving them. And I know some of them I will and some of them I won't but at the end of the day it won't matter.
It's not always about the the number of thing you achieve but about the meaning these things have to you.

Why we should compliment each other more often!

Hello everybody,

today I've got a little story for you.

A few weeks ago I went somewhere by bus and as I sat there a little boy and his mum got on and sat a few seats in front me. The mum looked a bit tired, she wasn't wearing any makeup and hadn't styled her hair. She wore some sweatpants and an old t-shirt. A few minutes into the bus ride, the boy turned to his mum and said. "Mummy have I told you yet, that you look pretty today." The mum looked at him, smiled and gave him a kiss on his forehead. It was such a cute moment and gesture and even thinking back to it know makes me so happy. It has something magical to see this pure love between parents and their kids.
And that's why I think that we should compliment each other more often. We live in a world where everything is moving so fast, everybody is rushing around, staring at screens that we forget sometimes the beauty of the people and places around us. It is our job to make our world a happier and peaceful place. Just go to a loved one or even a stranger and compliment something about them. Repeat this every day and you will see it not only makes them feel happier but also you.
The thought of making someone's day by just saying something nice to them is as easy as it is.
To see this happiness will make you feel good because you know you've done something, not everybody would do.

Love, Steff xx

Autumn and Christmas - my favourite seasons

Hello everybody,

because Christmas is just around the corner I thought about talking a bit more about my favourite two seasons (even tho a lot of the people won't consider Christmas as a season but I do). They are not only the last few months of the year it's also a time of joy and friends and family coming together.
Everybody has a favourite season, maybe you even love all of them but for me, these two are the best.
I think the reasons for this are quite simple, first of all: I love the weather when it gets a bit more chilly and you can cosy yourself up. Summer is way too hot for me just because I live right under the roof and I've got big windows on the south side it gets very hot in here in summer. Another reason why I love autumn is even tho it's chilly it's not freezing cold. I think the most obvious reason is what happens to all the trees, I mean doesn't it look beautiful having so many different colours on just one tree?! It's so nice to cosy yourself up in a nice warm jumper or hoodie, take an oversized scarf and a beanie and walk around in the nature. You all should consider taking at least a walk in a park or forest once a week it is so worth it.
It's time to light candles again (don't get me wrong I lit them up all year round) and having nice warm baths, which always get me into a good mood.

Let's talk about Christmas. It is the special time of the year to hang out with your friends and family more often than usually. It is a time not to worry about stuff and just enjoy every moment. Sure it is the most stressful time of the year especially for students because there are way more tests than at the rest of the time but I still do try my best to have as much time as possible with my friends and family. I think the best way to do this is to take all your worries put them in a box, lock that box and hide it far away from you until the new year has started. I know it's all easier said than done especially for people who worry a lot (but if someone who deals with anxiety and worries without even realizing it achieved it you this you can do this too), sure there are thoughts of worry that slip through sometimes but I try to not let them put me down.

Anyway, let's come to the real point.
To spend more time with family and friends, trying to do things you enjoy. Why don't you all have dinner together, decorate your house or flat, go to Christmas markets or bake. There is so much you can do together! Another thing that I love to do is to light a candle (of course), put on some Christmas jumpers or pyjamas and listen to Christmas music or watch a Christmas film.

I could go on and on and on and on but rather to read this five pages spend some time with your loved ones.

Just for the end, I've got two ideas what you could do at Christmas time:

1.) Do Secret Santa whether it's in your family or in your group of friends but it is also nice to do in school or at work. I love the version where you give each other some silly gifts nobody really needs it is so funny.

(This second one is not as christmassy as the Secret Santa one but for me and my family, it is a tradition now so we eat it every year several times.)
2.) The food I'm talking about is "Langos" it is a Hungarian meal and there are a lot of stands on my local Christmas market. If you don't know what it is I will try and explain it to you.
Basically, you have some dough that you fry. Then you put some sour cream on top and some cheese and ham (or anything else you want). You can also get it in a sweet version without the sour cream and you put but for example some applesauce on top. I love them (more the savoury version than the sweet) but is still love them to the end of time!!!!
If you ever see a sign that says "Langos" go and get one.

Right, I think you got an idea of how much I love these two seasons and there is way more to say but first of all: you get the point and second: go and spend time with your family and friends.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Love, Steff xx

PS: If you have reached this point I'm proud of you and very grateful. (you get another x for this)

PPS: I'm super sorry that the post was late :(

Ponchos - the best thing to wear in winter

Hello everybody;

as you know winter is coming (or already started) and it is getting colder everyday.
There is one winter essential I want to share with you: PONCHOS

These are amazing! I mostly describe them to people saying it's like bringing a blanket with you but these are stylish too. Everybody can find a poncho for themselves, I mean there are so many different out there.
Until now I only got two but I'm definitely going to get some more. The ones I have both have fringes and have a tartan pattern. They are so soft I take them with me everywhere.
I will leave some links down below.

Love, Steff xx

(PS sorry that this is just a short one but I had a very busy week. There will be a long one next week)

Christmas Decorations

Hello everybody,

as it is December (Finally!!!) and there is no shame anymore of having your Christmas decoration up I thought I show you mine. I'm honest with you guys, I've put up my decoration a few weeks ago which feels quite late for me but in Germany there is this holiday called "Totensonntag" which is the last Sunday before the first advent and it is kind of a tradition to put up your decorations after this day has past. People here do not like it if you do it before.
Anyway, I did not put up that much of decoration because I come home from school quite late and I won't be home from the 22nd until next year, so there is not really a point to overdo it. But I still wanted a Christmas tree however there is not a lot of space so it had to be a small one and I've found the perfect tree for me.

Everything about it is perfect and I have found such cute little baubles.
I`ve got some cute tea light holder as well and a copper plate with some fake snow, baubles, tea lights and other things.
Last but not least I've got this vase with some white sand, fake snow and twigs which is so lovely, it actually is my favourite bit. I've got fairy lights and scented candles everywhere and, of course, my advent calendars. I hope you enjoy the pics that I took (even tho I'm not the best photographer).
What Christmas decorations do you have?
Love, Steff xx

PS: I try to link as much of it as I can or stuff that is similar to what you can see on the pics.
