11th grade-thoughts

Hello everybody,

summer holidays have finally started, for me, that means six weeks of fun and traveling.
And after that, I'm going to be a 12th grader that means my last school year.

It honestly feels so weird thinking about it. I don't feel ready for life after school. I have no idea how anything like taxes, washing clothes or paying bills works.

I want to use this post to reminisce 11th grade.
It was stressful, fun, different/new and so short.
I don't know if it's just me but as far as I remember time went quicker with every year. I feel like it was yesterday that I started the school year. I blinked and it was over.

I'm going to a "Gymnasium" (sth. like grammar school or high school... I think) there are the years 5-10 called Sek. 1 and the years 11-12 called Sek. 2.
In Sek. 1 you pretty much have classes with the same people (exceptions are ethics/religion, Latin/Russian/French, and some kinda creative subject) every day over the years.
In Sek. 2 tho this changes. Every class gets mixed up and you won't see everybody anymore. Some a few days a week, others once a week and a few just in the hallway passing by. You meet new people. A friend of mine said to me that she has never seen that guy before that is in her class now. I do know him but it wasn't that different for me either.
Now as these two years are very important (doing my "Abitur" kinda A-level-ish) it does get a lot harder and time-consuming. There were so many weeks this year that I haven't really had time to rewind and do something fun.

Some subjects get easier, some harder and a few you don't have to attend anymore.
If I think back on the things that happened this year, there were many projects, people that are the worst to work together with and fun adventures.
Things I did were going bowling or to the theatre a few times with class.
A really important group work that one guy sabotaged for us all but everybody else in the group does not seem to care enough to actually tell him.
Teachers being savage or just completely done with everything. I've got many funny quotes in my planner.

I think the last school week is the best one. For me because of the drug prevention project for 7th graders called PEERS. It's from Monday to Wednesday every year. It is really important to show these young students the effects of drugs, alcohol and eating disorders.

Unfortunately, I couldn't be there on Wednesday this year because I had my AC (Assesment Center) on this day. Thursday was silly I went to school for 1 1/2 hours to watch something that did not make any sense, at least in terms of our curriculum. Friday we got our report cards, unfortunately, my tutor is in the hospital right now so it wasn't as nice or memorable.

I did enjoy school more this year than any other year before. And I'm already getting sad, knowing I have to leave so many people behind me when I finish school next year.

What school year are you in?
What is school like in your country?

My favourite shoes

Hello everybody,

I love shoes and I've got quite a collection now so, I thought I share a few of my favourites with you.

I think these are the oldest ones out of them. I bought them at Forever 21 about 3 or 4 years ago and I still love them. They've got this converse kinda vibe to them but joked it with Mickey.

I love all things rose gold so it's obvious for me to have some rose gold shoes. These are from Graceland. They look absolutely beautiful but they can be monsters and give you blisters you haven't seen in your life before but I love them too much to let them stop me wearing them.

I would describe them as fancy kinda biker boots. They have these gold accents what makes them look rocky but not too wild (do you know what I mean?). These are also from Graceland.

Don't ask me what kinda order this is supposed to be but now let's go to the winter section. These brown, lined boots are from Dorothy Perkins. You just slip in them and it feels like heaven.

Another pair of winter/autumn shoes I live in through this time are these leather boots with a small heel. These are from Pimkie and on the list of my most worn shoes ever.

Now coming to the party sections these are some go tos for me. These Magic heels are very settled and black pretty much goes with everything but they still peek out with their gold zippers.

These are only a few of my shoes. If you'd like to see more let me know.
What are your favourite shoes? Do you have any similar or crazy ones?

Family tradtions

Hello everybody,
every family has their own traditions. Some of them are more common than others.
I think it's fascinating to see those different traditions.

I would love to hear about your traditions!

One of the things my family and I do when we pick up each other from the airport is driving around the city the person has landed at. Even though we've driven through it a hundred times we will still do it. We do the same thing when we go out for dinner too or when we come home after a holiday. We will drive through our hometown and two or three more villages before going home. My grandfather always calls it "checking what has changed since we've been gone".
After we parked the car but still sit inside, at least one of us will ask: "Where shall we go now?"

My grandfather and I have this inside joke about going to get some petrol in Hamburg (Hamburg is like a five to six-hour drive away). There is a petrol station that never changes its price on the app we use. It is hilarious I swear. 😜
It's even funnier when other people are with us. Their facial impression is gold.

Since my mum moved because of her work i only see her around every other month. My grandparents and I go there during the holidays and when we do that we always do a pit stop at the same place. My grandfather gets himself a "Bratwurst" and my grandmother some cake from McDonald's. I'm also having a snack there but the thing is we actually hate that McDonald's because no matter how many or less people there are it takes them ages to get the food ready and it's cold everytime. Don't ask me why we still go there it just fits perfectly to our route.

Now coming to Christmas traditions.
When I was younger we (my grandparents and I) use to pick up my uncle in Berlin so my mum has enough time to prep the food and presents. We don't do this anymore but a thing that we did back then and still do now is driving around our neighbouring villages to look for Santa. We will find at least three each year.

My firsts

Hello everybody,

today I want to talk about different firsts in my life.

So let's start easy. My first word was "Mama" (at leat that's what my mum assumed).

My first time at "Internationale Grüne Woche" (a fair in Berlin we attend pretty much every year) was in January 2000. I was 4 months old so I can't remember it but my parents got a beer trivet made with my face on it.

My first teddy was a ladybug. I got it when I was born and at that time it was the same size as me.

My first memory that I can remember vividly was in my grandparents living room. I was wearing a tartan dress and I had a pink wand in my hand.

My first friend was a girl called Darleen. We met in kindergarten and were best friends for few years but I don't speak to her anymore.

I had my first English lessons in kindergarten. We were a group of 10 kids maximum and we used to sit in a circle and our teacher would show us different objects and tell us their names and we repeated them or we coloured sheets of paper with people doing activities on them. At the bottom of the page, there was a sentence in English telling us what they were doing.

The first time I flew somewhere was in 2006. My mum and I went on holiday to Tunisia.

I got my first console as a Christmas present, it was a pink Nintendo DS lite.

My first DVD was Winnie Pooh: Springtime with Roo.

My first book was about dogs. It was meant to make you feel their fur or noses. I still have it.
My first proper book was "Hier kommt Conni". It's from a book series with many different books for kids different ages.

The first show/artist I came obsessed with was Hannah Montana. I loved that show but also her as an artist. I still do love Miley Cyrus she was my childhood and early teens. Her voice is amazing.

My first celebrity crush was Nick Jonas from the Jonas Brothers.

My first mobile phone was a Nokia 3510i. It was a hand-me-down from my mum.

My first lipstick was a very shimmering light red one from essence called "sparkling miracle" and it stank so bad. My first mascara also was from essence called "All eyes on me".

My first job was at my grandparent's restaurant. I was a waiter and bartender.

I got my first period when I was on holiday with my grandparents and I had nothing to help me but I also didn't want to tell them. All I remember is that I had a lot of red underwear when I came back from that holiday. But I found out that thermal water is really nice when you have cramps.

My first blog post was Hi! Nice to meet you, I published it on the 7th November 2016.

I hope you enjoyed it. If you want me to do another one of these posts let me know which firsts I should talk about next.
